Slave Knight Gael is a character in Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel and the final boss in The Ringed City DLC. He is a knight who serves the painting girl in the Painted World of Ariandel and is on a quest to collect the blood of the Dark Soul, which he believes will bring about the "age of dark" and the end of the world. However, the blood drives him mad, and he becomes a monstrous creature, a shadow of his former self. Gael is a tragic character who is driven to madness and despair.
