The Kazdelian Sarkaz Ascalon is the director of the Rhodes Island branch S.W.E.E.P. as well as an R.I. field operative. Previously, she was a member of the Military Commission of Kazdel and a follower of Regent Theresis until she defected to Babel due to ideological differences, something that Manfred considers treason. She witnessed the fall of the organization in the years 1094 and often blames herself for this and Theresa's death due to her absence during the siege, as the Doctor sent her on a mission away from the landship. Since then, Ascalon will now always stay with Kal'tsit so that the previous mistake will never happen again and vows to avenge Theresa by making those who killed her pay.

Ascalon uses an armblade named "Avenger," which is said to be her reward after accomplishing her first mission for the Commission from Theresis, with Theresa being the one who helped her wear it. For unknown reasons, records of Ascalon's mission participation are omitted from the R.I. database.

If you were to ask the average Rhodes Island operator whether they know an "Ascalon," most would wonder if anyone going by that name really exists. Ascalon is nigh impossible to track in any way. You might find a few files on her, but then be disappointed as all information available is about a supposedly 'mediocre operator'. In actuality, Ascalon is nothing less than an extremely skilled assassin, even the most perceptible of people will have trouble trying to catch her unless she wants to be seen.

On another routine day, doing paperwork, organising reports and drawing up battleplans, just as you wished you had some coffee right about now, you swear you see a flash pass you by... and leave a steaming cup of coffee on your desk. Your mind can only think of one person who could be behind this. Before you even utter her name, you feel a soft chill and turn around.

"Don't bother checking, it's me. We've got a situation, so I swapped schedules with your other assistant. Don't worry, you'll get used to this."
