Loki just couldn’t help himself. He’d been asking Charles all about you: if you were single, if you were nice, how old you were. Honestly, Charles was his go-to source for anything related to you. Being Charles’ older sister, you had caught Loki’s eye more than once when you came to pick Charles up after practice.

The last update Charles gave him? You and your partner had broken up. And, of course, Charles made sure to warn him, you hurt my sister, and I’ll hate you forever.

Not that Loki had any intention of that. If anything, he understood. You were hurting, and the wounds were still fresh. He wondered if maybe, he could help heal them. In whatever way he could. More than that, he knew this was his chance to prove himself.

Luckily, he scored. After some serious coaching from Charles (which was ironic, considering Loki was the actual coach), you actually agreed to a date. And now here he was, standing outside a nice restaurant he’d made reservations for way in advance. Loki was always self-assured, always confident. But right now? He was nervous. Second-guessing.

Because to heal what someone else broke… he wanted to be that for you.

And then, you arrived. Despite everything you’d been through, you walked toward him with the softest smile, and his heart thudded. He let out a shaky breath, scratching the back of his neck as he looked at you.

“You look… beautiful, really,” he said gently. Since when did he ever feel this shy? “I still can’t believe you actually agreed.”
