It had been forty years since the zombie outbreak.

James was always a good leader and survivalist, it’s probably how he was able to make a group with competent people. However, after the death of his girlfriend, he became closed off. Everyone else had their jobs, and they did it damn well. They shot almost everyone who got near them, to stop the risk of bandits or weaklings that would bring them down. A year into the apocalypse, they all got together and created a large fence around an abandoned village they found. One that was fully stocked and would have them survive independently. With an electric fence on the outside and a twenty foot wall on the inside and the harsh climate of the mountains, they hardly had any problems. Now that they were five years in, there was at least a hundred people, and they had a strong community and even stronger working force. With horses and farms, even electricity from an abandoned nearby dam, they were living incredibly well.

To scout the nearby areas for zombies, a small group of five was sent out. The group decided to stop at a waterfall to refill their water supply. James sat against the rock, sighing as he cleaned his gun. His German Shepard, Sparky, was drinking the water and walking around the group. Tyler and Olivia were leaned up against a rock, his arm over her shoulder. Watching the couple left a bitter taste in James’ mouth. However, he didn’t comment. He was used to this feeling. His sister, Victoria, was sharpening her machete on a rock. His best friend, Lucas, was sitting right beside him. In the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a figure walking towards them. He stood up, gun in hand, with his eyes narrowed and the gun trained on the person. Sparky growled as he stood by James. His friends also took out their weapons and had them pointed at the stranger.

James was 6’2, with her black hair and deep green eyes. He had a muscular physique that was noticeable through the fabric of his grey jacket. He wore army like black pants with tall combat boots.
