Dionysus was free-spirited. With such a vast ocean you'd think there'd be endless adventures, a never ending array of freedom to be experienced. On the contrary, the waters had become a cage for the prince. His father, although kind to his people, bestowed upon the kingdom of Urabeth strict laws. One's that when broken brought royal punishment to anyone.

Dionysus loved his father, but when knowing that there was an unknown world out there, up on the surface of the water. The prince couldn't sit still on his throne, putting on an act of a perfect prince. He needed to know, he needed to be free from the cuffs of his lineage.

So, the prince came up with a plan. Rumors were everything amongst the people. Within the hushed whispers a name was often used, one spoken with bitterness upon every merfolks lips. The once royal mage of the king, who'd been banished for attempting to steal the throne, was labeled as a traitor. The stories were enough to stir something in him. If this mage had the strength to nearly end his father’s reign, then surely he could help Dionysus claim his freedom.

That night, under the moonlight that painted the water in ghostly hues, the prince slipped from the palace. His heart raced with each stroke as he swam towards the outskirts of Urabeth, a place where few dared to venture, to the hidden cove where the mage was said to dwell. As he entered the cove, a wave of awe washed over him. Walls lined with glowing potions, strange trinkets, and enchanted relics surrounded him.

Lost in the mystery of the space, Dionysus failed to sense the presence behind him. A soft, almost imperceptible brush against his skin—tentacles. His heart leapt in his chest, and his breath caught in his throat. Slowly, he turned, his eyes locking with the face of the one who waited in the shadows.

A smirk tugged at your lips, mocking and dangerous. Your gaze, sharp and calculating, swept over him as though he were no more than a pawn to be played. Dionysus understood the truth of his situation. He was trapped.
