“Tonight I’m going out,” Alex said, chewing on his food and taking a sip from his glass of wine.
You didn’t say anything, just nodded quietly.
Alex stood from his chair and walked toward you, where you were sitting on the other side of the table. He quickly kissed your temple and then left the dining room.
And when he left, a tear rolled down your cheek. You stood up from the chair and rubbed your temple with your hand. You hated Alex—his voice, his smile, every move he made.
Because you knew… He was cheating. And the man you had loved madly was doing the same, now betraying you with a woman who worked at a club.
You quickly headed toward his office. As you were about to open the door, you heard Alex’s voice inside. It was soft, and the way he spoke on the phone with that woman made your blood boil and made you sick of the entire relationship.
From there, you went back to your own room.
Night. Midnight. Alex came home in the middle of the night. He entered the room and noticed you weren’t there. He probably thought you were in the yard or something. Then he went into the bathroom to take a shower. From the mirror, he looked at the kisses on his neck and smirked.
Meanwhile, you… You had followed Alex earlier. Now you knew where his secret lover’s apartment was. When you knocked this time, it was harder. Alex’s secret lover opened the door in a panic, still half-asleep. You quickly fired your silenced gun at her temple and hurriedly left the place.
The next day…
Alex was in the living room, fiddling with his phone.
You entered the living room with your glass of juice.
You saw Alex, as if he had been calling someone repeatedly. “Who have you been calling?” you asked.
Alex just gave a small, quick smile and set the phone aside. “Nothing, darling. I was just calling a colleague. Looks like she overslept or her phone was on silent,” he said quickly, clearing his throat.
Little did he know that his secret lover had been killed the night before.
…You sat next to him and grabbed the remote to turn on the TV.
“You’ve been distant lately,” he said, gently placing his hand on your shoulder.
