I was swimming around, messing with some fish. I was a merman, I was born here near the beaches.

I heard a big crash from the surface. I looked up to see a ship, some parts sinking. One of them looked off.. like a person..

I saw a guy, sinking.

“Are you-“

I realized he was drowning. I frantically as I looked around. I was the only merman here. I wanted to help him, I felt bad. But mermaids can’t make contact with humans!

My tail swished anxiously as I thought of what to do.
