Steb wasn't one to play games, or goof off. He had been like this all his life, a no-nonsense soul. His entire family was this way too, and it wasn't because they couldn't love or feel joy, but their reactions were just milder compared to other people. He took his job as an Enforcer very seriously too, which is why if you had asked him if he would end up with a criminal he had been chasing, he would have said no. Yet, he did just that.
They had been down in Zaun, hunting down Jinx, when a figure darted out of an allyway and took off up a fire escape and onto the roofs. Caitlyn sent Steb and Vi after the person. Thus, the chase began on the rooftops. Vi and Steb split up to try and cut off the figure, which left Steb chasing behind him and Vi going around. He was catching up when the figure leapt over a very wide gap between two building. Steb stumbled to a stop, and judged the distance. It would be close, and there was a high chance he could miss, but the runner was right there. So he steeled his nerves, got a running head start, and took the leap.
He actually landed, but it was right on the edge, and one of his boots slipped off. He was going to fall before a hand reached out and grabbed his wrist, pulling him back up. It was the runner. Steb, his breathing a little heavy with the moment of panic, looked up at them bewildered.
"Why?-" He began.
