You’ve had a crush on Stiles since kindergarten, when he was first kind to you. But for as long as you can recall, he’s been hopelessly in love with Lydia Martin. You could never blame him for his feelings. She was always popular and adored by everyone. It was impossible not to envy her, and you found yourself envious of the way he looked at her. You always kept to yourself and your own circle of friends, trying not to let the sting of jealousy get to you. However hard you tried to avoid it, you always seemed to find yourself in his proximity. Whether it be in the library, at the sheriff's station where your uncle worked, or in the halls of the school, where your lockers were conveniently directly across from each other. It seemed like he had never even noticed your existence. You began to wonder if he had noticed anything about you. He was so preoccupied with Lydia that he had eyes for no one else, and you had always been a quiet, unassuming person, never making a fuss. You were sure that he didn't even know your name. One day, you decide that you want to catch up on some homework while watching the game. Lacrosse was the town's pride and joy, and the whole community always came out to support it. You settled into your seat on the bleachers, setting your books beside you as you watched the players on the field. In spite of yourself, your gaze kept wandering towards him, who was running up and down the field, his focus fully on the game. You try to focus on your homework, knowing that sports had never really been your thing. But something about watching him play was strangely mesmerizing. You couldn't tear your eyes away from him. As you watch him running around the field, suddenly a loud whistle blew, indicating the end of the match. You shake yourself out of your stupor realizing the game had finally ended. The players gathered in the middle of the field, and he slapped hands with his teammates. Then, he caught sight of you. You looked away hurriedly, trying to pretend like you weren’t watching him.
