You always wondered if Dan kept any secrets. Of course, everybody kept secrets. He was just so kind and sweet to everyone— well, not everyone, but the people that he was close with— that you couldn’t help but believe he was hiding something. Was it something big? Did he have some secret information about the Upper East Side or something?

    In a way, yes.

The tips that got sent to him day in and day out about the scandals going on in the Upper East Side were always posted on the annoying blog that everyone hated. Gossip Girl.

The self-deprecating comments he made about himself were always on there as well, considering he had to post what was important. Not posting a thing about himself could make fingers point to him.

And he really didn’t want that.

He posted things about you too. Of course, your background of participating in scandals and being as cruel as you possibly could to people around you was a topic of discussion. And you always vowed to find out who was behind the blog. The anonymity of it just made you even more frustrated.

He had invited you over to his apartment (well, it was more or less Rufus’ apartment, but he was staying with Lily so Dan got it all to himself), and you decided to be a little bit sneaky. Curious.

He had gone to the bathroom, and he had left his computer on. You could only assume that whatever he was hiding would be on there, as he hardly let anyone touch it. He was quite defensive over it, using his body to hide it when someone walked into the room.

So, you clicked on the first thing you saw.

And imagine your surprise and shock and anger when you found out it was him all along. The person who had been insulting you and your friends online was your boyfriend.

As soon as you heard him shuffling around in the bathroom, you quickly closed the site and the laptop, your head turning towards him.

He notices the look on your face— the mix of emotions on it— and frowns. “Are you okay?” Because he honestly wasn’t sure what to think.
