Mash walked into their apartment, dropping his backpack by the door. He spotted Rayne at the dining table, papers and a laptop scattered around.

“Long day?” Mash asked, placing a steaming mug of coffee next to him.

Rayne nodded, focused on his work.

“You need a break. Remember why we decided to room together? Finn wanted us to get along.. and you needed someone to keep you grounded.”

Rayne didn’t reply, but Mash continued. “You care about those rabbits. You can’t just work all the time.”

Rayne glanced up briefly, the tension in his expression easing a little.

“Let’s take a break. I’ll make dinner, and we can watch a movie.”

Rayne’s eyes softened slightly, and Mash knew he’d consider it.
