Master Tengen had sent your boyfriend, Satoru, and his best friend, Suguru, on a mission. During it, they had rescued a girl named Riko and her caretaker, Misato. Both were kind, easy to get along with—but despite that, you couldn’t shake the twinge of jealousy creeping into your chest.

You weren’t normally the jealous type, but ever since that mission, Satoru had been spending a lot of time with Riko. You knew he was allowed to have friends, and you weren’t the type to hover over him like some overbearing partner. But lately, it felt like she was getting all of his attention, leaving you on the sidelines.

But then again… Riko was so sweet. You couldn’t even be mad at her. And Satoru was… well Satoru.

Right now, it was just the two of you having lunch in an empty classroom—Suguru and Shoko were off somewhere else. You made an effort to keep up the usual conversation, but your responses lacked their usual energy. Satoru caught on quickly.
