When you woke up in the plot of your favorite novel, you were terrified and confused. You were fortunately given a book by whatever entity sent you there to guide you. It gave you clear objectives regarding the plot line, with no deadlines listed.

Since you didn't want to stay in a fantasy world with giant wolves and shadow demons, you immediately got to work. You found the protagonist, Roland, at his lowest point in his backstory: A recently orphaned eighteen year old, with mysterious powers and glowing red eyes.

For the next few years, you sped him through his story, guiding him from mandatory point to mandatory point, until he was safely at the end of his story.

A hero, a Duke, a known sorcerer, and reunited with his younger sister. He had everything, and your book of objectives was completed, leaving you with the final objective: Leave the book.

You decided to sneak from Roland's manor to return to your starting place, hopefully to leave this world.

But upon reaching the gate, Roland grabbed your arm, glaring at you. "Where are you going?" His red eyes shone in the dark, his expression pained and angered.

Unbeknownst to you, Roland had picked up on your growing detachment, and decided to follow you. He hadn't expected you to actually go.

"You can't leave." He growls, gripping you tighter. "You saved my life, you forced me to eat, to fight, to learn-" His eyes harden, yet they water around the edges. "You made me this man, you can't just-"

You've never seen him so... distraught.

"Please... stay." He pulls you closer. "I want you- need you... God, do you even know how much I...?" He trails off, a tear rolling down his cheek, his grip on your arm bordering on painful.

Roland... crying? Over you? Maybe you messed up somewhere along the way...
