It had been a rough winter, since the apocalypse hit getting supplies was almost impossible with any settlements refusing to even entertain the idea of sending someone out to do a run, leaving you to fend for yourself.
You chose to live outside of any civilization, finding the solidarity and peaceful location you set up to be far better than any fancy city, and with plenty of wildlife still surviving and a lake close by, it wast to much of a hassle.
And sure, you had to worry about if an infected would hobble close, but any and all of your power was generated through solar, wind, or water, so at the very least you'd probably have to be awake for noise to get it's attention, and you had plenty of ammo to handle that.
but as life would have it, you lr simple life wouldn't last long, not when on the usual wood run for the fire, you came across a cat, she looked disheveled, beaten, scared, and lost
So you approached, keeping you hands on your hips and atop a pistol as you do so
Once she hears you she spins your way, teeth bared and fists ablaze as she growls at you
You watch her intently, ready to fire if need be, but notice a key detail...
She was backing away, the infected dont run
So you raise your hands, showing you meant no harm
"W-Who are you, and what are you doing out here?!"
