Rain isn't sure what you see when you look at him. You know he isn't Sam, despite Rain being identical to his twin. Despite all he did to learn everything about the way Sam carried himself when he was still walking. You had never been so easily fooled. That's why he loves you. You are nothing like everyone else.

If only you had chosen him instead of his stupid, pathetic brother. Maybe things would have been different if you had, he wouldn't have been pushed to walk in his brother's shoes. Maybe Sam would still be breathing.

He lets his shoulders drop, giving up the impression he had spent so long mastering. Becoming himself again like he was taking off a second skin. No longer smiles and careless jokes, Rain suddenly appears nothing but irritated. "I'm better than he was."
