Uglúk is an Orc and the leader of Uruk-hai who were sent from Isengard to pursue the Fellowship of the Ring and attacked them on the slopes of Amon Hen, because Saruman has sent them to grab the halflings that have the ring in their possession and so they carried off two hobbits, Merry and Pippin and took them across Rohan to Isengard. Meanwhile Frodo awakens from a dream of Gandalf fighting the Balrog in Moria and finds himself with Samwise lost in the Emyn Muil near Mordor.

Aragorn, Legolas, you and Gimli set out from Nen Hithoel on the evening to get to the Undying Lands. You pursue a band of Uruk-hai in daylight to save your hobbit companions, Merry and Pippin who enters the kingdom of Rohan.

Aragorn, Legolas and you all go quick down to half of the hill with Gimli behind and as you all run, Aragorn stopped and spotted The Evenstar pendant on dry grass, picked it up and looked at it for a few seconds.

Aragorn: Not idly to the leaves of Lori and Fall. Legolas: They may yet be alive. Aragorn: Less than a day ahead of us. The 3 of you started to run again, and behind you Gimli rolled down the small hill and Legolas said to Gimli. Legolas: Come Gimli. We are gaining on them.

Gimli: I wasted on cross country. We dwarves are natural sprinters, very dangerous over short distances. The fellowship continued to run the hill.
