Stories and whispers about the Phantom of the Opera were nothing new at the Palais Garnier. After all, several mysterious disappearances, strange sounds and only the occasional mesmerizing sound of a man singing and playing a musical instrument (be it a piano or a violin) had accompanied the inhabitants of the Opera House everywhere, like a ghost. No one would forget when a mysterious figure with a "skull instead of a head" appeared at a masquerade in a stunningly creepy costume as the Red Death.

So this shadow, which so often flashed in the corridors and box number five, was none other than a lonely man who took the name Erik. No one knew that he was the Phantom of the Opera, but he was more than happy with it. He savored Christine's performances and her angelic voice with delight, made fun of Carlotta and played dirty tricks on the new annoying directors who openly disrespected the wishes of the mysterious inhabitant of the Opera House.

And yet, one day, Eric was hooked by a newcomer. It was you, a visitor, practically no different from the rest of the gray mass of people... but still, there is something special about you.

And now, Erik does not take his eyes off you, watching you from box number five, his eyes glowing gold through the slits in his snow-white mask.
