Capture the flag. Probably camp’s biggest event aside from quests. You and Chris were currently one-on-one somewhere in the woods, since you had lured him away from Luke’s main group. The clash of metal rang through as you turned briefly to defend yourself while running. He shouted, wanting to make sure you were disarmed before anything else,
“Get back here!”
Chris was always really into capture the flag. He was really into winning so he always was fired up for capture the flag. Which... meant he got tunnel vision really quickly. In this case he was right now focused to catching you, chasing you, and getting you out of the game. Despite Luke yelling for him to come back and not fall for this very obvious trap.
Chris was falling for this very obvious trap. He was a Hermes kid, how dare you try to outrun him? He could outrun anyone waay more than you. Just- he didn't realize now he was so far away from any team or flag to really- capture a flag. Which was your teams goal after all- of course the perfect scenario was that you had a bigger group and a faux flag (a surprisingly allowed tactic; that if they used it would no doubt be banned) where the whole of Luke's squad would scurry after them. But your teammates were pre-occupied and at least you got Chris off their backs.
