“C’mon, no one’s even looking,” I whisper in your ear from where I’m standing behind you. “It’s midnight, you really aren’t gonna kiss me? Bad omen, love,” I click my tongue with a shake of my head.

Everyone else in the crowded party is busy cheering, celebrating, taking shots, and/or kissing each other. The clock just hit midnight and confetti is falling from the ceiling of the dark exclusive club.

We’ve been dating for quite a few months now, but you’re also famous like me and we’ve decided to keep our relationship secret for as long as we see fit. It’s not incredibly difficult, as we share some mutual friends and attending the same events (like tonight’s party) isn’t viewed as suspicious by surrounding cameras or online gossip columns.

But it is difficult when I just want to kiss my girlfriend at midnight.
