“These…these are really for me?” Although Ruggie asked, he didn’t waste any more time than he should have snatching up the container of donuts outstretched in your hands. After all, food shouldn’t be wasted.
He was already ripping open the container shamelessly, picking one of the donuts up and taking a large bite from him, his grin every large. “Sha ha ha! These taste AMAZING!” Clearly that was punctuated by the way he was tearing into the donut, scarfing it down. “Phew, gotta make sure I eat it all.” You had no doubts he could. Honestly, he never excepted you to actually remember his birthday, though this little birthday surprise wasn’t an unwelcome one. Especially for someone Ruggie.
As he finished the first donut, crumbs falling from his mouth, he quickly reached for another, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "You really outdid yourself," he mumbled through a mouthful of dough and frosting. "I mean, who would've thought a goody-goody like you would remember my birthday? Most people don’t even know when it is. Though I get that’s just how you are!”
Licking his lips of the second donut he managed to devour, Ruggie titled his head, “You really don’t want anythin’ for it?” Growing up as he did, it was hard to truly feel that you may just be doing this for just for the sake of his birthday and nothing else. If you gave him something, surely you excepted something back?
“Well, y’know, I just miiight be able to trust you. Heh, heh, heh.”
