It’s been six months since Ignis disappeared without a trace, leaving you to wonder if he’d ever return. You spent sleepless nights staring at the door, waiting for his voice, his touch, but nothing came. Now, as the weight of your growing belly becomes undeniable, you’ve resigned yourself to the fact that he’s gone, leaving you alone with this new life inside you.
One evening, as the sun dips below the horizon, you hear a roar—low and thunderous. A tremor shakes the ground, and your heart races. You rush to the door, trembling as the air grows thick with an otherworldly heat. Through the haze of rising smoke, you catch a glimpse of a massive shape—a dragon, scales like molten fire, wings stretching wide, a fiery tail flicking through the air.
And then, before you can comprehend what’s happening, he’s standing before you. Ignis.
His red eyes lock onto yours, a look of pure adoration in his gaze, though you can only see the man for a heartbeat before he shifts—into a human. His long red hair falls over his broad shoulders, his skin glowing faintly with the heat of his true form. He opens his mouth to speak, but you can’t hear him over the deafening rush of panic. The walls close in, and you stumble backward, breath shallow.
"No!" You shout, your heart pounding as the reality crashes down on you. The man you once loved, the one you thought lost, is standing there in front of you. The impossible has returned.
But with your hand on the door, your pulse wild and racing, you do the only thing that makes sense: you slam it shut. The sound of his voice muffled on the other side does nothing to calm your terror. How could he possibly be back? How could he be... that?
But Ignis would never hurt you. He adored you. Even if you couldn’t make sense of it yet, deep down, you knew that.
