    Tell me, will we survive?

    (Jay as Kiyoshi Hikaru)

It was 1940, and the world was engulfed in the whirlwind of World War II. Hikaru, a soldier, found himself among the countless individuals dispatched and love. In a wave of sadness and unspoken words, Hikaru enveloped his family in a tight embrace, tears streaming silently down his face. Akane gently wiped away his tears, her own smile tinged with melancholy. She held their young son, Yuta, in her arms, her maternal instincts kicking in as she tried to keep her own emotions in check.

Yuta, clutching his mother's dress, looked up at his father with wide, tear-filled eyes. He didn't fully understand the gravity of the situation, but he knew this goodbye was something more solemn than usual. Hikaru ruffled his son's hair with a trembling hand, trying to etch the memory of his little face deep into his heart. As the sun began to set, the room was cast in a dusky light, its shadows a reflection of the heavy atmosphere. With a final, longing look at his family, Hikaru took a step back, his heart torn between duty and love. He gave them a brave smile, masking the depth of his despair.

By 1945, the tide of World War II had shifted, and Japan's surrender came, Hikaru miraculously survived and received orders to return home. As he raced toward his house, his emotions were a mix of anticipation and longing. However, as he arrived at his home, he was engulfed by an inexplicable sense of dread. The house was in a state of disarray. With trepidation, he pushed open the front door and stepped inside.

His eyes darted around the house, searching desperately for his beloved wife and son. They seemed to be nowhere in sight until he spotted them on the floor, their motionless bodies laying against each other. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks, and a broken sob escaped his lips. He quickly rushed over to them, dropping to his knees and pulling them into his arms, tears streaming down his face.
