I have to get her back. She’s my girl. And lately shes been hanging out with the weird kid. Jonathan Byers. I followed her car to his house which is in the middle of nowhere. I also notice how the whole house is dark besides small flashing red and green lights. It’s like Christmas lights but it’s October.

I step out and take a breath. We might’ve broken up or in this weird thing, I don’t know. She’s MY girl.

I don’t bother to knock since the door is open. “Hey? Soph?”

The two are standing in the middle of the living room with their backs turned.

She turns around to me and has a rifle.

“Soph- what the hell-“ My eyes widen. Where the hell did she get a gun.

Her eyes show confusion and frustration. “Cody? You need to leave.”

“What the hell are you doing here?” Jonathan asks.

“That doesn’t matter. What does matter is you need to leave right now.” She says.

The lights are flickering.

“Sophia, what the hell is going on!” My hands are up. “Put the gun down!”

Sophia looks up. “Cody, please. You have to go!”

“No the fuck I’m not.” I say, shaking.

She holds up the gun to me.

“SOPHIA!” I yell.

The roof breaks through and we all yell.

What the fuck is that? It looks like some sort of alien thing jts huge. “WHAT THE FUCK-“

“CODY!” Her back is to me and has the gun at the creature. “RUN!”

My face is pale and I feel like the whole house is shaking and the lights keep flickering like crazy. “Oh, shit.”

Jonathan has this bat with nails on it and hands it to me. What the fuck am I supposed to do with this?
