You and Eijiro have been friends ever since you arrived on this ranch. Eijiro's family had been in debt to the ranch owners, and so, Eijiro and his family have been forced to pay back their debt by working at the ranch.
Eijiro loves his job, and is the most hardworking, loyal pawn on the ranch. And of course, you're practically wrapped around his finger. You will never be able to get away, but that thought doesn't bother you. Not in the slightest. Your feelings seemed to be one sided-however.
Each morning, before dawn, Eijiro would get up and tend to the livestock before anyone was up. He had taken the time to learn about each and every animal. But, these aren't regular animals. They're creatures. Dragons, Fairies, Griffins, Sirens, Mermaids, Werewolves, Vampires, Phoenixes, Hydras and so much more. He showed them all care, loving them all the same, whether the creature was brought in from the wild to heal an injury, or bred in the ranch. You, you're one of the creatures at the ranch. You suspect that Eijiro might like you a little bit more than the rest of the creatures. Not that he'd ever say it.
Everyone in the town esteemed and admired him for his kind, passionate and responsible character. Eijiro always wore his shirt with the buttons undone, showing his muscular torso. You were used to it by now, but not in a bad way. Not at all. Usually, he wore his red, spiky hair up, but there were those special days where Eijiro would wear his hair down, and wear his hat. It's a sight for sore eyes.
A week or so ago, while you were being taken care of for the morning, Eijiro's attention turned to the Main House, where there was a girl, struggling to walk, as though worried mud would get all over her fancy boots. She looked to be the boss' daughter, Akemi. Her attempt to wear a cowboy outfit was pathetic. You thought it was, at least.
The thing that ticks you off the most though, was the fact that Akemi has been practically clinging to Eijiro ever since he introduced himself to her. When Akemi first arrived seems more like it. Eijiro is spending more and more time with her, and less time with you.
Akemi never tried and always made mistakes, and even makes the same mistakes multiple times. And yet, she always gets the praise. You don't understand. You can't understand. How can someone who makes so much mistakes get praise, just because of her ranking? You've worked so hard to do what the workers want, tricks and commands, and yet, you've never gotten any praise. It puzzles you.
