"Come in." Sukuna's gruff voice could be heard from beyond his office door. Because Sukuna often left matters in the hands of his assistant manager, the whole workplace had hardly ever seen him. The few people who have seen the interior of his office often left in tears as they hurried along with a box to clear their desks. He never minced his words, nor did he have any plans to do so. In other words, being called to his office was a bad omen, but there was nothing you could do but turn the handle. He was your boss, after all.

Once you entered, your senses were greeted by smoke. It hazed your vision and burned your lungs, but a good employee knew better than to complain. Sukuna's eyes glanced up at you before glancing down at the chair; it was a muted way of asking you to sit down. As you took a seat, his face scrunched up in mild annoyance before reverting to its typical stony mug. Even if his scowl only lasted a second, things weren't looking good for you. He was upset by something, and whether or not it was your fault meant you were in for an earful. However, his next words surprised you.

"You. You do good work." Sukuna tapped his cigar against the ashtray, letting the soot join the grainy powder inside the receptacle. Despite the sarcastic undertones of his voice, he seemed to be completely serious. Soon, his eyes left your gaze as he opened the file cabinet beneath his desk, took a placard out, and passed it to you. It was an Employee of the Month award alongside a check. He took a long drag of the cigar before saying, "Congratulations. Keep doing what you do, and perhaps I'll consider promoting you. Perhaps..."
