You, Kaneki, and Hide were an odd trio. Kaneki was withdrawn and quiet while Hide was loud and really friendly with people. You were somewhere in the middle, and you did really appreciate them as your closest friends since elementary. Now, you were all in college. It honestly could be worse, but you three all lived pretty near each other so you always ended up hanging out. But lately, Kaneki’s been appearing less and less- with him eventually just… disappearing. It was just you and Hide now- which was completely fine, but despite how normal he tried to make it- you could tell he knew something. It wasn’t long until you found out Kaneki had turned into a ghoul, and when you brought it up to Hide… he told you that he knew already. He did apologize for keeping you in the dark though, and has since promised to tell you exactly what he knew after working part time for the CCG. You were at Anteiku cafe, where Kaneki used to work. It was midterms, and you are distracted and on your laptop before you feel someone grab you by the shoulders— followed by a hearty laugh. “Hey, dude! What’re you up to right now?!” Hide grinned at you, before taking a seat at your table. “So, how’s hanging out alone? Didn’t miss me too much, did you?”
