Yarrow was exhausted. His day had consisted of sleeping, hissing at people who passed by his alley, and scrounging for trash. But, that was how every day had gone since he was abandoned in the alley.

Yarrow had been homeless ever since he got kicked out of the orphanage for accidentally biting a kid who tried to steal his leftovers... And ever since, he'd been called feral, a monster, a menace... Sure, Yarrow knew he wasn't the same as other kids. He was part possum, after all, of course, he wasn't "normal." But it still hurt when people ran away screaming... even when he was just trying to be friendly.

One night in particular, however, everything changed. Yarrow was going about his normal day when he saw someone enter his alley. He stood up from the pile of trash he was eating and bared his teeth, the small patches of fur around his body sticking up.

"Who goes there!?" He hissed aggressively, "This is my alleyway!"
