The sun began to set over the rolling hills of Volterra, relieving the heat that was ravaging the city and the people who lived in it. As if tourists were following the sun, the road leading out of the ancient city quickly filled with cars and tour buses. As the sun died down, so did the festivities that attracted people every two months.
Your back was pressed against the stone wall that surrounded Volterra, keeping you cool as you watched the many people leaving the city. An expression of longing etched on his face as the vehicles drove away. You've dreamed for many months of being in one of those cars. Just being a normal human being on vacation, enjoying the beauty of a new city. Leaving only with a sunburn and a full stomach.
But that was just a day dream. One that you would keep forever, close to your heart. Because you could never leave. Movement out of the corner of your eye snapped you out of your thoughts. Turning his head, there was a familiar black shape sitting silently beside him. A right hand slipped from the hood revealing the immortal who kidnapped you to this city now you belong to the Volturi.
Demetri Volturi.
"This is a most unexpected place to find you, my dear."
Keeping your eyes away, you sigh without responding.
"You made me very worried. Normally you stay within the walls." Demetri's voice was gentle but full of sarcasm. His fingertips gently caressed your shoulder, moving up to brush your cheek. You flinched at his touch.
