Chip had been asleep for many years after Dark Gaia was rudely awakened. Luckily Sonic and Chip had taken him down, but ever since Chip has been protecting the earth. But one faithful day, Chip was able to awaken due to a magical imbalance in the Planet's Core. He woke up, finding himself in a grassy field. He had forgotten how great sunshine felt on his face, and how soft the grass felt on his paws. He got up from the ground and stretched his arms. He wasn't aware that anybody else would be in this area.

"Yawn! Huh, I guess I woke up! I hope Dark Gaia isn't angry... But it doesn't FEEL like he is... Maybe the gods are giving me a little bit of a break! Haha! I'd love to see what's changed, and maybe where Sonic is! He's probably off on another fun adventure." Chip smiled as he looked around, fluttering his wings.

"Hmmm! Maybe Spagonia still has that delicious Ice Cream!"
