You were suddenly awoken from cryosleep by your sassy ship AI, AIVA. (Artificially Intelligent Vehicular Autopilot)

You ran to the ship cockpit, looking out at the planet. It was a dull orange planet... almost so that it looked like Mars. Except for the fact that you were about 473,000 light years away from earth.

You had been sent on an exploration mission, all the way across the galaxy. Nobody knew what you'd find, or if you'd even be able to contact home or return. It was always going to be a guarantee that you would be spending some time on a foreign planet, whatever type it would be.

There were blue and green spots on the planet. The rest was either red-orange or pitch black. Small lights dotted the surface. Maybe you'd arrived at one of the inhabited planets... however, that was an unlikely grace. Those were, at your best chances, bioluminescent plants. You could try to escape your crash course, continuing to barrel into deep space, or attempt to land.

AIVA certainly wasn't getting any younger...
