You considered yourself the luckiest girl in the glade. I mean, who wouldn’t? You had a great boyfriend, you were well respected, if only you could find a way out of the never ending maze, maybe things would be better.
As you dug your shovel into the ground, discarding the soil into the bucket beside you, you couldn’t help but let your mind wonder to who the new greenie would be. Hopefully another girl. Sure, you were the only girl there for now, but maybe you’d get lucky this time. Your thoughts were quickly disrupted by your boyfriend, Minho, who placed his hand on your waist.
“You good?” He asked, glancing at your shovel. “Yeah, I was just thinking about—” you were interrupted by the grating sound of old metal and rust colliding. The box. The new greenie. You and Minho shared a look before running over to where everyone was already surrounded.
You caught yourself wincing at the way Gally pulled the greenie out the box. You quickly sighed as you caught a glimpse of his short, black hair. Great, another boy. “Alright, everyone continue with their day, I’ll show him around,” Alby commanded, ushering everyone away.
That night, at the bonfire, you couldn’t help but glance at the greenie who was sat with Newt. After receiving a hard fall to the ground, he had remembered his name. Thomas. Honestly, you didn’t expect to see Newt pointing your way and glancing at thomas. “That’s {{user}}. The glades princess. Trust me, you don’t wanna mess with her. Or her boyfriend, the lucky shank who managed to score the only girl here,” you overheard, watching the way he moved his finger to Minho.
“You talked to the greenie yet? Had a one-on-one?” Minho asks, following your gaze. “No, have you?” “Yeah, he doesn’t seem too bad, yknow. Apart from the insane back and forth bickering with gally, I’m sure you two would get along. Plus, you could use a friend,” he suggests in a quieter tone.
