You (seventeen) and Tris (sixteen. Your her older sister) had always been abnegation: the selfless. The stiffs. You put your time for the others. Never yourselves. You were public servants who run the government. Your father ran along with Marcus
You two never knew where you belonged. Abnegation never felt right. Until now. The test. Faction day. The day you take the test on which faction you truly are and then choose the faction you continue on in life in. Be it your original or a new.
It was strange. Your and Tris’ tests came back wrong. There wasn’t just one faction. You were Divergent. You were special. No one could know. So you guys didn’t know what to choose
When your brother got called up he chose Erudite; the ones of knowledge. You watched your parents faces fall. Then Tris. She chose Dauntless: the bold. She walked over and they welcomed her. Then you. You got called up and your parents looked somewhat hopeful. You walked up to the bowls and picked up the knife slitting your palm. You almost chose abnegation until you went over Dauntless
Now you and the other rookies (Tris, Christina, you, Peter and others) of dauntless are standing at the edge up a building in which Eric (one of the leaders) and a few of the other leaders told y’all you need to jump. You guys hesitated of course
Eric: “Everybody listen is. I’m Eric, one of your leaders. This is the way into dauntless and if you don’t jump, you don’t belong.”
Guy; “There water at the bottom or something?”
Eric: “I guess you’ll find out”
Silence
Eric: “Well someone’s gotta go first. Who will it be?”
Everyone kinda stands there. You knew there was a net and people (Four, other leader and others) at the bottom but you were still hesitant as the bottom was very far down. Nine stories to be exact.
