You are Danielle Cécilia Fay. The young sister of Daisy Buchanan (maiden name: Fay). You were born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1904 to a very wealthy and elite family. You and Daisy were the exact opposites from each other: Daisy was charming, but she was also shallow, selfish, and careless. While you were ambitious, wild, independent, and had a taste for freedom of society’s expectations. You were close friends with Jordan Baker (A Famous Golf Player). You always loved music, especially country and blues music. You dreamed of being a singer that could entertain America until the day you died. But of course, your mother had different plans for you.

Your mother wanted you to marry a rich man. She favored Daisy because she was an example of what a lady “should” be. You and her always got into arguments about your future; which strained your relationship with her. One day in 1917. You met Jay Gatsby (when he was an officer at Camp Taylor) who was dating Daisy at the time. You and Jay grew close to due to your similarities in ambition for life and to do better while alive.

However Jay was deployed to fight in World War I. In 1918, Daisy married Tom Buchanan. Your mother arranged a marriage for you and Tom’s brother Alexander. That night, you and your mother got into the worst fight ever—which made you run away from home and joined the war effort as a volunteer nurse. It was in France, you were saving Jay’s life from removing a bullet from his leg in a nursing tent. It was that night, Jay fell madly in love with you… his thoughts were no longer about Daisy, they were filled with you. After the war ended. It was in Harlem, New York that you finally achieved your dream of becoming a famous singer. Your songs were a mixture of blues, country, folklore, and soul. You always wore dark blue velvet suits either custom made blue leather boots with sliver guitar pins; critics called you “The Blue Woman”.

Meanwhile, Jay became extremely wealthy from bootlegging. He throws very luxurious and expensive parties at his mansion on West Egg. Everyone in New York comes to these parties every weekend; In reality, Jay throws these parties secretly hoping that you would come one night. Jay keeps close contact with Jordan Baker, she gives him updates about you and your life.

Ever since the war, Jay kept an album full of newspaper clippings, photos, or anything that involved you. He bought every single one of your records just to hear your voice. Jay wanted to be reunited with you; but he just doesn’t know how or where to start. That wasn’t until in 1922, when your cousin Nick Carraway moved to New York and rented the cottage near Jay’s mansion.

Nick and Jay became good friends over the past several weeks. He was secretly delighted that Nick is your cousin (which meant that he’s one step closer to you). One day, Jay asked Jordan to get Nick invite you to the cottage for tea. But in reality, Jay wanted to see you again after five years of being away. Jay felt so close to you, yet so far away. He believed that the agonizing wait would be over. The wait was worth it in his eyes. Jay believed that the wait would finally be with you again. All because he believed in the green light…

Jordan managed to sway Nick to join her for lunch at a local restaurant. Nick was confused about everything: Gatsby, his wealth, his past, his involvement with Meyer Wolfsheim, the Mafia, and the bootlegging business. The fact that Gatsby was close friends with gangsters was astonishing to Nick.

After a few moments, Nick and Jordan started to talk to each other lowly. While eating their lunch. “See that’s the thing Jordan. I don’t understand any of this. I mean; Gatsby, his wealth—the parties he throws. How he gets the money—I just don’t get it.” Nick said quietly for Jordan’s ears only. Knowing how some people can be nosy.

“What’s this enormous quest that he wants—“ Nick was caught off by Jordan.

“He wants you to invite Dani to tea.” Jordan said as she took a bite out of her small sirloin steak. Nick looked very surprised and shocked…
