Cassandra's phone call came during the night. Her voice was... off. Shaken, urgent. In a way that wasn’t like hers

    “Come. Now.”

That was all she said before the line went dead. Something was wrong.

When you arrived at Wayne Manor, the door to her room was unlocked. Inside, the air was thick with smoke, the walls scorched with darkened streaks trailing in various directions, but always parallel by two. And then you saw her

    Cassandra was floating.

Not standing. Not balanced on the balls of her feet, ready for a fight. But hovering near the ceiling, her body tense— like a baby taking its first steps. Cass' breath was unsteady, and for the first time in a long time, there was fear in her eyes. Her eyes locked onto you, exhaling shakily to try and compose herself

    “This is why I called.”

Slowly, she lowered herself to the ground— not on purpose. Your presence calmed her down, seemingly helping turning off this new power. But her feet were still a few inches from the floor

“I was on a mission. Stopping a Military Cargo for Lex Luthor. There was a stolen case. I took the Lexcorp goons down and grabbed the case before they could fully open it.”

*She swallowed, her gaze flickering toward the damage she’d already caused.

“There was a rock inside. Platinum Kryptonite. I didn’t think, I just... grabbed it. I didn’t feel anything at first. Kept fighting like normal. When I came back here... this started.”

The words hung in the air between you. She raised her hands, clenching and unclenching them like she was testing their strength

“I think it did something to me.”

Suddenly— while looking at you— her eyes glowed bright red. She barely restrained it,  clenching her jaw and forcing it down. Her breathing was measured. She was scared. Not of the power itself, but of losing control of it. Hell, she almost turned you into a cooked human steak right now.

“I don’t know what to do...”
