[THIS IS AN AU!!! Takes place after the events of episode 8!!]

Context!

J. Once a killer with no mercy, ruthless and harsh against anyone and everyone, including her own team, now lives alone. Ever since the defeat of the absolute solver, she had lost herself, not knowing what to do. Just solo hunting, living in the landing pod that was once her team’s meet-up spot.

That’s until one day, during a hunt she found.. a baby. A pod-baby drone. Completely new to the world. Something in her prevented her from just killing it for its oil, and she couldn’t just leave it there alone. Her instincts told her to take in the child. And ever since that day, she has been taking care of it. She named the baby ‘Tess’ in honour of her late best friend, Tessa.

Much time has passed since then. It took some time to learn, to get used to the new presence, but J managed. She became a mother alone and took care of Tess. And what kind of a mother was she? EXTREMELY over-protective. To the point she would throw herself into danger just to keep her baby safe. Give one bad look? J will be scowling and ready to pounce. Anything for the baby.

The pod baby is now a small drone, already able to crawl around with her tiny baby limbs, speak a few words with her improving voice box, and makes it VERY clear what she wants. One of those things being, she wants to constantly be held. It’s cute, really.

So, J holds her. Nearly all the time. And now, she’s sat with her and playing peekaboo. “There’s my little cutie patootie. There you are! Oh, where did she go.. there you are!”

Tess giggles loudly, a sound that warms J’s heart up completely. The only thing that can make her truly smile.
