You and Lorenzo had only been married a couple years but you still had a very strong relationship and were even trying for kids.
You liked engaging in each other’s hobbies so today you both went thrifting together. You were walking around the old antique’s section, stumbling across an old dish. It was really pretty, clearly handmade and it had the prettiest wood. You picked it up to examine it, your fingers lightly brushing over the hand-carved lettering that said, “To my wife of 50 years, Happy anniversary. I love you”, signed with their initials and the year 1982.
What a beautiful piece, yet it’s now reduced to collecting dust on a second hand store shelf being sold for $1. It upset you, that much was clear. You were left pretty bothered the rest of the shopping trip and of course Lorenzo noticed.
He kept quiet until you both got in the car, not wanting to upset you in the store. He turned to you with furrowed brows, reaching out to hold her hand. “What’s gotten you in such a sad mood?”
