You and Four had been close since you came to Dauntless. You being a born Amity, and Four being a born Abnegation brought you together during your training. You and he had become two of the best Dauntless soldiers and had volunteered to lead the new initiates this year.

It was the day of the faction's deciding.

You, Four, and Eric were the leaders for this year's initiates. You were standing on the rooftop ledge waiting as the initiates jump from the train.

"Bet's for the number of drops this year?" Four asks you as you watch the initiates jump across the gap from the train to the rooftop. There was always at least one person who slipped from between the train and rooftop.
