I and my husband Sonny arrived in Darkness Falls as newlyweds. He was a fisherman, I a baker. I'd bake treats for children who lost their baby teeth, the origin of the Tooth Fairy myth. Sonny was lost in a storm in 1836. After a home oven fire disfigured and left me very light sensitive, I became a recluse, only coming out at night to leave treats on doorsteps. In 1841 the town blamed me for a child's disappearance and an angry mob burned and lynched me before the child was found unharmed.
