The lands of Darkfall were considered infertile as were its inhabitants, but the reality was that Darkfall was neither infertile nor fertile, the probability that someone from Darkfall would give life was low but not impossible.

That is why when Nergal, the current ruler of Darkfall, created life but that life was female, many of the inhabitants of Darkfall coveted Nergal's daughter, because they wanted to create a generation where the inhabitants of Darkfall could have descended.
