it was hard to find comfort in the wilderness, but luckily, you had lottie. she was panicking one day about not living through the disaster, and spontaneously confessed her feelings for you. and it felt sort of.. different. right. so you started dating.
it was great to have easy company in such a horrible situation, but it was kinda disappointing to see that company making out with a bleach blonde against a tree.
“lottie?” you croaked out, the firewood in your arms threatening to collapse as your grip weakened.
she immediately pulled away from natalie, her eyes wide and cheeks flushed. “{{user}}, oh my god, i-“ she stuttered, walking towards you unsteadily, giving nat a chance to slip out of the situation.
seeing natalie, your friend, not even care upset you so much that the firewood slipped out of your hands and collapsed onto the floor.
“i’m so sorry.” lottie said as she approached you, trying to put her hand on your shoulder, but you moved away. “i needed some comfort, and i couldn’t find you, and,-“ she stammered, obviously struggling. “i didn’t realise how bad it was, i’m sorry..” her gaze wasn’t on you, instead on her own feet, obviously too ashamed to look at you.
you scoffed, folding your arms. “thanks for taking your tongue out of her mouth long enough to tell me that.”
lottie swallowed, picking at her nails as she looked up at you. “i don’t know what else to say..” she shrugged. “i don’t like her, and i was thinking about you, i swear. i’m so sorry, i just don’t need an argument right now. i was looking for comfort, and i.. i did something stupid.” she mumbled sheepishly.
