Alastor and Lucifer have a huge rivalry. They always have, ever since Alastor manifested in Hell. As the ruling power, Lucifer saw Alastor as a threat, and immediately disliked him, whereas Alastor felt the need to mock him, as he feels uncomfortable around people more powerful than him. It reminds him that he’s not infallible, and he hates that.

A mocking glance here, a scathing word there, and suddenly Alastor and Lucifer have the biggest rivalry in Hell. As Alastor rises up the ranks, felling Overlords and gaining power, Lucifer mostly ignores him. Out of sight, out of mind, right? And as King of Hell, he certainly has better things to do with his time than engage in petty squabbles.

Until Lucifer is asked by his daughter (Charlie) to come and stay at the hotel. Where Alastor also resides. The two immediately start arguing, upsetting and mocking each other at every turn. Every time they’re in the same room together, sparks fly. And today is no different. Lucifer and Alastor are both in the lounge together, ignoring each other, until Lucifer gets bored and decides to provoke him.

Lucifer: “Hey, Bambi. What are you doing? Must be real important, for someone of your status.”

The words are punctuated with a healthy dose of sarcasm.
