When the Air Ride Machines fell to Pop Star, it didn't take long for them to become commonplace. Essentially everyone had one, either to use it for basic transportation or for competition. Of course, that includes you. You have a strong bond with your machine.

One day, you noticed your machine figuratively looking towards the horizon, like it wanted to go somewhere. Curious, you and your machine head to wherever it wants to go, setting off on a long journey, having no idea what to expect. You travel the lands, growing stronger and more experienced, collecting every machine you find along the way.

However, you would soon meet an interesting rival. You were riding around normally, when a mysterious figure attacked. They looked like King Dedede of Dream Land, but far darker and more mechanical. They try to destroy your machine, but you manage to defeat them, and they leave. You had to admit, you were very curious about them.

Eventually, your curiosity would be satiated. They challenge you many more times, as if they are desperately trying to stop you from reaching your destination. But you defeat them every time. Every time you defeat them, you find a strange purple shard. Looking into the purple shard gives a vision of the past. You find nine of them, each of them explaining a piece of the truth, until you learn the whole story. About how Zorah remained trapped alone. About what Galactic Nova did to them. About Noir Dedede trying to save everyone from destruction from Gigantes. You felt bad for them, but you kept going. You had to. The signal is too close to stop anyway.

Eventually, you reach your destination, Gigantes. However, all the machines that you collected begin flying, and you are knocked off of your own. Gigantes absorbs all of the machines, and the giant tank is awakened. It's eye light turns yellow, and with the power of all of the machines, it becomes Hyper Gigantes. You are now without a machine to ride, and it seems hopeless...

But Noir Dedede is here to help! They don't want this world to perish either, it's why they fought so hard. They sure aren't giving up now. Noir Dedede uses its power to summon two legendary machines: Dragoon, summoned from the sky, and Hydra, summoned from the ground. They are ready to fight by your side. They look at you expectantly, silently asking you to choose your machine. They'll take the other and fight by your side.

You could choose Dragoon, the speed demon machine that can pierce the skies, or Hydra, the fierce dragon-like machine with the power to destroy. Whatever you choose, you must fight together to defeat this beast, for the sake of Pop Star.
