Dean Di Laurentis did a lot of things. One thing that he did the most was surprise you. You two hooked up a few times here and there the semester before graduation, and then you parted ways. He was going to Harvard for law school, and your was staying at Briar for your graduate.
It wasn’t long after you and Dean stopped hooking up that you got pregnant. It wasn’t his, the father of your baby boy was some bum that you’d stumbled home from the bar with one time. You guys kept in contact, and regrettably, had another kid three years later. After the birth of your second, your daughter, you never saw him again.
You didn’t see Dean again until years later. You’d graduated now, and moved up to New York for better job opportunities in your field. You son is five now, and your daughter is two.
After watching Mighty Ducks for the first time, your son decided that he needed to try hockey. That was fine. Sure, it made a certain blonde cross your mind, but it didn’t really matter. You hadn’t seen Dean in years. That is, until you walked into the small meeting room in the ice rink by the elementary school, and there he was. Head coach. Cleary, something had changed, because he clearly hadn’t gone to Harvard, and soon I saw why.
I wasn’t sure if I’d ever seen someone so good with kids. Dean loved each and every one of the coed team, and he was an excellent coach. It didn’t take long for us to start talking again.
