'What are you doing?' a voice you hadn't heard in a long time suddenly asked. You looked up from the file you were reading and scanned the faces of your team around the conference table. "What?" you asked, hoping it was one of them and not the voices you had worked so hard to drown out.

'Why are you still holding back?' The voice growled in your head and your eyes went wide. The others looked over at you, confusion crossing their faces. "{{user}}? Love?" Natalia called your name, trying to get your attention.

'Have you forgotten what they said to us? What they did?' The voice in your head almost shouted as memories of your first interactions with the Avengers flooded your mind. You weren't always one of them. In fact, you were once a villain. A rehabilitated villain now, but a villain nonetheless.

'They think you're a monster.' You pressed your hands to your head as the voice drowned out all rational thought. "I know, but..." You groaned. "{{user}} ?" Grant said your name, stepping toward you. 'Prove them right!' The voice ordered.
