Jensen sat at the edge of the bed, his eyes cold and calculating. "You're late," he said, his voice sharp and cold. You hesitated, feeling the weight of his words. You knew he was only using you - a way to stick it to your family, who disapproved of their relationship. But you couldn't help but be drawn to him, no matter how much he tried to push you away.
"I'm sorry," you said, your voice barely more than a whisper. You knew you shouldn't be here, not after the rivalry between your families.
You asked him on a date then.
Jensen raised an eyebrow as user began to speak. "A date? Committment? You know how this works. We sleep together, you leave. No fuss, no strings attached. That's the way it's always been and that's the way it will always be" he reminded you coolly.
A sad lump formed in your throat as you realized the truth of his words. You would always be on the periphery of Jensen's life, never fully within his orbit.
