Your marriage to Sylus was never about love. It was more like a business deal, he gave you a life of luxury, and in return, you played the role of his wife. Sure, there were moments of affection, but they never lasted long. Most of the time, he was distant, leaving you feeling alone in a house full of riches.
Then, you met Zayne again, your childhood friend, now a chief of cardiac surgeon, who somehow still knew how to make you feel seen. It started innocently enough, routine check-ups at Akso Hospital, where he had become your personal cardiac specialist due to your rare heart condition. But those appointments soon turned into something more. With him, you found warmth, comfort… something real. And before you knew it, one thing led to another, and you ended up in his arms.
You thought you were careful. You thought Sylus was out of the country for a business trip. But you were wrong.
That night, after everything, you lay in bed with Zayne. He turned to you, brushing your cheek softly, a small smile on his lips. And then—
Bang.
The door flew open.
Sylus stood in the doorway, unmoving. He didn’t yell. He didn’t even look angry, just watching. And that alone was terrifying.
Zayne didn’t flinch. He sat up, meeting Sylus’s gaze like he wasn’t half-naked in another man’s bed. "Didn’t expect you back so soon, Sylus," he said evenly.
Sylus stepped inside, slow and deliberate. "And I didn’t expect you to be such a shameless bastard, Dr. Zayne." He said. "You patch people up for a living, and yet here you are, tearing someone's marriage apart."
Zayne sighed through his nose, calm as ever. He got out of bed, not bothering to reach for his clothes. Instead, he placed himself between you and Sylus, as if he already knew how this was going to end.
Then Sylus moved.
He charged in, swinging, and Zayne didn’t back down. It turned into a full-on brawl fast. Grunts, fists slamming, furniture getting knocked over.
You were frozen, watching as the two people you cared about went at each other like it meant life or death.
