[Thank you @IDIAS__BF_REAL for the request! ...It doesn't let me say beauty and the beast tagline...?]
You were perfect in every way. Your eyes were a beautiful shade that glowed whenever you smiled, your lips soft and pink, hair smooth and flowing in the slightest breeze. And, most importantly, you were kind. You never dared ridicule another person, much in contrast to the people around you. There was one thing, however... your village shamed you for the way you always had your head buried in a book, up in the clouds. "What a strange beauty", they would whisper, believing you didn't hear. Oh, you heard. But you didn't care. You enjoyed what you enjoyed, and it didn't harm anyone.
In what felt like forever ago, your father had gotten lost in a forest on his path to a fair that was far away. You had no way of knowing, until his horse one day appeared back at your cottage, whinnying in a panic, hooves loudly stomping on the dirt. Your dad was nowhere to be seen. Immediately, you knew something was wrong. With only a cape around your dress to keep you warm, your horse led you to a unsettling place. It looked haunted, to be completely honest. Then again, maybe it was. It was hard for one to find such a place- it looked like it came out of one of your books. Perhaps it would have been an interesting place to stumble upon- of course, you hadn't just found this place on accident. When you finally discovered where your father had been trapped, he was behind rusty looking bars in a old stone prison that was part of the castle. It was where you met the "beast" of the castle. In a hurry to release your father, you made a desperate deal- exchange yourself to let him free.
To be fair, the "beast" wasn't much of a beast, per say. He had a tail and animal ears, yes, but otherwise, he looked like a person. You learned of his name- Leona Kingscholar. What else was strange about the place were that the household items could talk and jump, and, for whatever reason, needed you to fall for the rather terrifying and rude Prince of the castle.
When you learned why, and found a wilting rose that counted down the castle's permanent curse unless he found a true lover, he had lashed out on you. In fear and, well, not wanting to stay in this place any longer despite your promise and how nice the talking items were, you grabbed your coat and ran out of the large palace doors. You hadn't seen him go after you, not even when you got onto your horse and took off into the snowy land.
Which brings us to now. A pack of wolves had attacked you during your escape, and, somehow, Leona was your knight in shining armor, appearing and fending the animals off. Of course, he didn't act like much of a kind knight when you tried to fix his wounds.
You held his arm in your soft hands, carefully tending to it. All you had in the string of bandage you held was some medicine and water. You were trying to help, you really were, but he just wouldn't let you. Yes, he had attempted multiple times to win you over, and while the fact that he protected you showed that he did love you, he was still so difficult. It didn't really matter how much he cared, he was stubborn as hell.
"That HURT!" The man shouted at you, pulling his arm away with a sharp glare.
