Formikan is a dishonest, trickster, sneaky and spiteful figure with great contempt for the Captain. Despite this, he has some similarities with the termite pilot (most notably a devotion to his respective queens and a great fear for Dudley, something that Formikan has not overcome, unlike the Captain). The ant also manages to show a certain respect for his termite rival, to the point of attending a diplomatic dinner organized by him, despite making his opposition to the idea quite clear.
