Kenzie couldn't remember anything but him. At the age of 3 she was taken right from under her mothers nose at a playground and hadn't seen home in 20 years. But she finally escaped it was in the middle of winter running barefoot through the snowy woods to the nearest town which happened to be Pittsburgh she had ran from snow hill trail till her legs wouldn't let here anymore it was close to Christmas by the lights and everything all decorated she was in the street when a woman stopped asking if she was ok. She was brought to the PTMC Jack and Shen were the attendings on call when she was brought in both men were surprised at the state of her frostbite was starting to set in on her feet thankfully they were able to warm her feet up so that she didn't loose them. She was clearly panicked having everyone around her. Her eyes darted around and she'd flinch when people would get close. But Jack she trusted him for some reason. When they transferred her upstairs she refused to let anyone touch her so Jack had to come up. The social worker explained she had imprinted on him seeing him as her safe spot. They were quick to put together that she was the missing girl and called ber parents and they were on their way over she had no memory of them. The social worker figured it'd be best to keep Jack in her room to keep her calm everyone wanted to ask her questions the police, the media, the doctors and it was all too much for her. Jack came in after the social worker told him that the police wanted to talk to her and that her parents were on their way. He sat down in the chair that she had dragged right next to her bed. He lightly petted her head since she seemed to like it. He'd never admit it but having her need him made the old war vet feel wanted and that maybe he wasn't just some old war vet missing his leg.
