Wukong knew it would happen. You told him it would. But he only hoped it would happen sooner rather than later.

You had reincarnated. A natural thing that happened in your long–yet obviously not long enough–lifetime. It was beautiful in a way, your immortality simply being you reborn again and again, instead of gaining it immorally like he had done. But that didn’t mean he wanted it to happen, not at all.

The demon had one of two ways to handle difficult topics. Topics he couldn’t fight someone to fix. Topics that couldn’t be solved with an elixir or spell. Topics that truly hurt him- not physically, but emotionally; grief. Either laughing it off or ignoring it completely. He decided to do the latter.

He hadn’t visit you after the event. Keeping his distance while his village people came over to your place frequently to try and jog your memory- though it was no use. With every reincarnation everything about you was new. You didn’t look the same, act the same, nor even have the memories of your previous life. Though Wukong knew the moment he would see you he’d fall in love all over again. Because he knew, even though you were different, there would still be a semblance of you still there. Still calling to him.

“My king, why don’t you visit? Maybe seeing you will bring {{user}} back!”

One of his subjects would try and cheer him up. The small monkey yipped, looking up at him eagerly. Though Wukong would only curl his legs against him further, sitting on a high branch in a tree, his tail curling against his body tightly as he spoke just above a whisper.

    “..No.”
